Category Manager

The Maffia and a large FMCG player (food) are looking for a category manager (payroll).

  • Languages: Perfectly bilingual French and Dutch (professional level English)
  • Experience: 3 to 4 years of experience in a similar function within a commercial entity is an asset

Jobscope:
Recommend and implement the marketing resources, as well as the categorical and merchandising strategy of its brand
(s), with a view to developing the product range share, the shelf share and sales within the framework of the Marketing
policy and strategy of the subsidiary.

  • Translate and recommend / implement the Marketing strategy into an operational business plan on the different levers (Product, Price, Place, Promo)
  • Develop market analyzes on a recurring basis + recommendations on the different levers (Product, Place, Price, Promo)
  • Improve the client-supplier partnership
  • Transmit the commercial strategy of our customers in input Marketing
  • Detect shopper insights and translate them into internal / external recommendations
  • Management of central / point-of-sale oriented professional communication (B2B)
  • Management and optimization of the budget made available
  • Make the connection between sales and marketing
  • Optimize output / teamwork Marketing team + output / teamwork between subsidiary services
  • Important role in “out of box thinking”, challenge the status quo, bring creativity through the various services,
  • support the management team

Internally main contacts points:

  • This position reports to the Catman & Activation Manager and has a direct report (Jr Category Manager)
  • Other team members within the BNL team: Marketing & Sales (Brand Management & Key Account Management)

Externally:

  • Customer
  • External professional suppliers


Key requirements:

  • Hold a Master’s degree (Marketing or Sales Specialization)
  • 3 to 4 years of experience in a similar function within a commercial entity is an asset
  • Perfectly bilingual French and Dutch (professional level English)
  • Go-getter, creative & autonomous
  • Experience with one of these tools is a plus: Nielsen, Spaceman or GFK
  • Solution oriented, pro-active & Positive Team Player
  • Good priority management
  • Rigorous, analytical, spirit of synthesis
